8) with a scepter
[ rabdis - royal scepter] (rod) of iron, as when earthen pots are broken
in pieces, and (his power over them shall be) like that which I Myself
have received from My father.” [Ps. 2:8,9] The quotation of these
Old Testament verses is from Psalm 2 which references the rule of the
Messiah in the Millennial kingdom. His rule in the Millennium should
not be confused with His rule over the new heaven and the new earth
following the Millennium. The term ‘iron scepter’ clearly
signifies or describes His rule as being stern and authoritarian. “He
will dash them in pieces like a potter” speaks of judgement and
the breaking up of evil strongholds. There will be no evil tolerated
in the Millennial kingdom— no rebellious subjects, nothing except
that which is pure and good.

In
verses 26 and 27, say that ‘the faithful’ will be given
authority over the nations. The underdogs will be completely vindicated
before those who were their persecutors. [2 John 8] Two promises are
made to the overcomer who would not compromise with the world; who overcame
the seduction, fornication, immorality, drunken and loose parties, idolatry
and false teaching of the society in that day__who kept on living and
working for Christ: 1. He would be given power over the nations, being
given a position in which he would rule and reign in the millennium
with Christ. This will be a glorious time of perfect righteousness resulting
from Christ’s personal enforcement and order. [Luke 19:17; 1 Cor.
6:2; Rev. 3:21; Ps. 91:14; Luke 22:28,29; 2 Tim. 2:12; Rev. 20:4]

2.
The overcomer would be given the Morning Star to have forever?Jesus
Christ Himself, Who never to be away from Him.
Rev. 2:28,29 “And
I will give him the morning star. He who is able to hear, let him listen
to and heed what the (Holy) Spirit says to the assemblies (the churches).”
Someday the Morning Star, Jesus, will belong to each believer in perfect
personal intimacy. There will be no distractions in eternity. We each
will belong totally to Christ. May every believer listen to and heed
what the Holy Spirit says to the churches.
